Nondestructive testing (NDT) is the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components or assemblies for discontinuities, or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. In other words, when the inspection or test is completed the part can still be used.


Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is a volumetric nondestructive testing method that uses sound waves to propagate through an object. We offer an extensive range of UT processes to fit most inspection needs. These processes include:

Eddy current testing (ET) uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to detect flaws in conductive materials. ET is performed on the surfaces of critical parts to detect discontinuities such as cracking and corrosion. It is also used to detect and size flaws found within heat exchanger tubing.

Welds, castings, and parts used in high stress or high reliability environments utilize Radiographic Testing (Radiography or RT) to detect internal defects not apparent on the surface of the part. We perform x-ray/gamma ray/radar inspection – both film and digital – to MIL-SPEC, ANSI, ASTM and ASME specifications. Radiographic inspection is very accurate and sensitive to internal defects. This is often performed in conjunction with penetrant or magnetic particle inspection for surface coverage.

We can inspect practical thickness ranges up to 3.0” steel and x.0" concrete.



Liquid penetrant inspection (PT) is a surface inspection method used to test a variety of both metallic and nonmetallic materials such as welds, forgings, castings, plastics, and ceramics.. Since liquid penetrant testing is capable of economically revealing surface discontinuities in a variety of dissimilar materials, it is one of the most effective and widely used of all the nondestructive test methods.

The sensitivity of a “penetrant system” is based upon its ability to resolve small defects. The smaller the defect the system can detect, the higher its sensitivity rating. Sensitivity level 1 is low, Sensitivity level 4 is ultra high. A.P.I. is capable of performing all types and methods of penetrant inspection.


Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT or MPI) is an inspection method for  locating surface or shallow sub-surface defects on ferromagnetic material.

Because of the variety of equipment and materials, there is essentially no limit to the size and shape of parts that can be inspected using MT. MT can be performed on castings, forgings, welds and machined parts, providing that they are of a material that can be strongly magnetized and the surface is sufficiently clean and accessible.

MT provides a fast and reliable inspection both in the lab and in the field.



Visual inspections also commonly called as Visual examination or Visual Testing (VT) on objects, parts, components engineering structures is the oldest and reliable nondestructive testing method. This test method is applied to almost every product as a quality assurance tool.

We provide a multitude of visual inspection options that include Code-based inspectors such as AWS Certified Weld Inspectors (CWI), API Tank & Vessel Inspectors (API-653 & 510), ASME XI VT-1, VT-2, VT-3 Nuclear Inspectors, NACE Coatings Inspectors, and more.

Visual inspections can be carried out remotely through video probes, remote cameras, drones, borescopes, and more.
